The 'top' of the fashions with which the teenagers of the 2000s grew up

The year 2000 meant many changes for fashion. Colorful, sensual, luminous and sometimes mismatched garments were the main characteristics of the fashion that emerged at that time. Below we recall some of the garments that were most used.

There were two important rules in 2000 fashion for pants: they should be as wide as possible and they should be worn low on the hips. It was common for these to be bell boots and have zippers and buttons everywhere. In fact, most of them didn't have pockets in the back. What's more, the shorter the jean cut, the better.

Colored glasses, with rhinestones and in various shapes, were worn by all women, from celebrities to teenagers. It was the complement to any outfit.

The chokers or 'chocker', as they are known in English, of those that seemed to be tied around the neck and also made of velvet, were the favorites of the young women. They were not tight and were very easy to combine.

The hair also had its trend. Women and men tended to wear their hair light, following two specific references. The women had as a reference the look of the American actress Sarah Jessica Parker, who used to make a zig-zag at the root of her hair when combing her hair; men followed David Beckham with his 'mohican' hairstyle.

The camouflaged print was very common to see on dresses, pants and even accessories such as bags. Both men and women used it regularly.

In the year 2000, Von Dutch brand caps became popular. They could be worn regardless of whether the clothes worn were sporty or not. Celebrities wore them forwards, backwards, and sideways. Instead of these, some people decided to look better 'The Bucket Hat', which translates to 'wide-brimmed hat'.

It was law that the belts were wide and also had either studs, snaps or buttons. It was one of the garments with which it was difficult to leave the house, because they went very well with any outfit, even if they were not adjusting anything.

And not to mention the accessories! The more you had, the better. People used from several necklaces and bracelets at the same time, also glitter on their skin to make it look shiny, piercings in the navel and in the teeth.

Unlike today, due to the wide shots and the famous 'mom' cut, jeans in 2000 were very low cut, exposing women's hips and making men look a little baggy for preferring to wear this clothing in very large sizes. Also, brightly colored, frosted and iridescent pants were very common.

The fashion of 2000 had a particular touch because, in some cases, the underwear was left out of the garments. It all came about thanks to several famous supermodels and singers at the time, who by a 'mistake' revealed what they were wearing under their pants. As was the case with former Spice Girls member Geri Halliwell.

Even the miniskirts alluded to her name: they were quite 'mini', very short, and on some occasions they even showed more. One of the fashion trends of 2000 was to wear dresses over jeans or pants. In fact, some people preferred to wear shorts under their pants.
