2019 looks set to be the biggest year for Star Wars since it's been in Disney's hands. In the first place because Episode IX will be released, which will be the conclusion of the controversial third trilogy of the Skywalkers and the first in the hands of Disney; secondly, because we will see the progress and very possibly the premiere of 'The Mandalorian', the first live-action series based on the universe created by George Lucas, as well as the start of production of the 'Cassian Andor' series; and thirdly because what will be the largest expansion in the history of the Disney parks will be inaugurated, which will also be the first dedicated to Star Wars.

As we know, this expansion will be known as 'Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge' and will arrive at Disneyland, California, during the summer of 2019 and at Disney World, Florida, during the fall of next year. And as the date draws near, Disney is ready to shoot the hype sky high, or rather, the galaxies.

Welcome to Batuu

Since its announcement in 2015, what was known as 'Star Wars Land' has been showing us its progress and some details of what we will see there. And it is that, as I mentioned, it is the largest investment that Disney has made since it has the rights to Star Wars, since we will be facing a new section in its parks that will cover 5.67 hectares. To put it in perspective, 'Cars Land' has an extension of 4.9 hectares, took almost six years to build and was the largest until before Star Wars.

'Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge' will place us on the planet, never before explored, 'Batuu', located on the limits of the galaxy, specifically in the town of 'Black Spire Outpost', which is a port meeting point for traders, smugglers and adventurers.

According to Disney, in 'Black Spire Outpost' we will come across all kinds of characters from the saga, from bounty hunters to androids, beings from other planets, and of course members of the Resistance and the First Order.

At first it was said that we would have a replica of the mythical Mos Eisley Cantina here, but in the end Disney decided not to change history and create their own canteen, which will be known as 'Oga's Cantina'. Here we find everything from food to exclusive drinks, including the famous blue milk.
