In Greatndier, 5,000 garments are published a day, we want to change fashion consumption

Fashion has been one of the most questioned industries for its impact on the environment. Por ello, alternativas sostenibles, que ayudan a reducir el criticado ‘fast fashion’, son tendencia.

This is the case of the platform for selling second -hand garments ‘Greatndier’, which also promises to generate extra income to its users.LR spoke with Ana Jiménez, Country Manager, who told what the panorama in Colombia has been.

What is Gotrendier?

It is a platform in which women can sell those clothes they do not use, which is calculated is 80% of the closet, and buy garments doing three things: buy cheap;generate circular economy and wealth among women;and extend the life of garments.

Our goal as a company is to change fashion, the way in which women consume fashion, and the platform is helping them to do so in a very easy and affordable way.

What is the environmental impact to buy second?

At the level of sustainability, when we buy a garment we are saving 80% of the carbon footprint and we are making that mark that generated that garment really makes sense for something, not to use it three, four times and that it stays in the closet or, even go to the trash and follow your pollution cycle.

The UN says that if we use the garments twice what we are doing now, or what the ‘Fast Fashion’ suggests, we will reduce the world emissions of the industry 25%.It is important that we know that the re-use is a path and today is what we have more at hand to have a positive impact.

How do they boost the life of garments?

Individually, sometimes it costs a lot for women.But, if that garment can change hands and among all we can make that useful life fulfill, we will generate positive and real changes in the environment.

How can users be registered?

We are a 100% ‘mobile’ model, 95% of our users use the platform from their cell phone.You can download in the Apple, Android and Huawei store or use from the website.At the time of registering, the virtual closet is already created and you can do two things: take pictures of the garments, set them a price and negotiate, or start looking for among the more than 5.000 garments that are published daily.These garments have already had a previous curatorship that some woman before saw them in a store and bought them.

How many users do they have?

In Colombia more than one million, we are talking about three million with Mexico.Published garments are more than two million alone in Colombia.When women join we can do great things and that is what we should do, always support ourselves.

What is the growth goal for 2021?

Our forecasts are tripling the previous year, continue with the same rate of growth that every year we triple.We are on the road, the months of unemployment have been a bit complex because when logistics are slowed down everything slows down, but we hope to reach the goal.

How many transactions do they do a year?

We arrive at the milestone, between Mexico and Colombia, from one million sales last year.What we achieve in four years we hope to get again in a year.It is a snowball and we grow faster.

How do you handle garments?

We have an associated partner that is servientrega.The shipping process is very simple, at the time you sell the money is frozen by Greatndier to ensure the transaction.As a seller comes a prepaid shipping guide, the garment, you take it to a servientrega point and, when it reaches the buyer, the money is released.You can request cash collection or use it to buy.

Do they charge a percentage for the garments sold?

In our business model, being a transactional marketplace, we charge a commission.It is the cheapest in the market, 4.99% on the value of the garment plus $ 2.990 fixed that cover part of our operation.As all transactions are generated through the platform we have the same shipping price throughout the country.
