There is already a date for another Filomena in 2022: when will it be and everything you need to be prepared

The image that illustrates this news could correspond to any city in northern Europe, but no. This is Madrid during the Filomena storm that hit the Peninsula in January 2021. Although the picture is idyllic in itself, the large amount of snow that fell also left people incommunicado for days and resulted in the destruction of furniture and vehicles.

Jorge Rey, the young man who predicted the Filomena storm according to Las Cabañuelas -a method based on the observation of nature during the month of August to predict the weather throughout the following year- affirms that the next 24 January will see the first major snowfall that could be considered the Filomena of 2022 that will affect low altitudes.

HOW THE 2022 PHILOMENA HAS BEEN FORECAST

According to this method used by shepherds, the weather on August 1 would correspond to a general forecast for the following year, so that date is known as the key of the year. That is to say, according to Las Cabañuelas, the average temperature of this 2021 has its origin in August 1, 2020.

The method then maps each day to another month in the following year. Thus, August 2 corresponds to the month of January; on the 3rd, to February; and so on until the 13th, which forecasts the weather in December. Next, the second fortnight of the month (back cabañuelas) is taken into account, which serves to further refine the prediction. To do this, a reverse order is followed: August 14 corresponds to December time; the 15th, for November; and so on until reaching the month of January on the 24th. With the data obtained, a balance is made and the result is completed taking into account the behavior of the flora and fauna.
