This is Demet Özdemir, the protagonist of 'My home, my destiny' and 'Erkenci Kus'

Turkish fiction series are living a golden age on Spanish television screens. Stories like 'Love is in the air', 'Erkenci Kus' (Dreamy Bird) or 'Woman' stir up passions among audiences in our country. And actors like Kerem Bürsin or Hande Erçel rise to stardom when not long ago they were complete strangers.

'My home, my destiny' (Telecinco and Divinity) is one of these successful products. The series, which has become a 'boom' in Turkey, has landed in Spain to conquer the audience with the story of Zeynep and Mehdi. They are the protagonists of this love story in which anything can happen.

Demet Özdemir plays the main character, Zeynep, in the series. The Turkish actress was born in 1992 (29 years old) in the town of İzmit, she measures 1.70 and is the youngest of three siblings. She moved to Istanbul with her mother and her siblings after her parents' divorce, when she was only eight years old.

Her artistic career began as a dancer, but she soon made the leap to the world of music videos and, finally, to television series. She stood out there until, in December 2018, she received the award for Best Romantic Comedy Actress at the Pantene Altin Kelebek Ödülleri, (Golden Butterfly Awards).

Her role in 'Erkenci Kus', along with Can Yaman, ended up launching her into stardom. In the year 2019, she received the Best Actress award at Beirut's Murex d'Or for her performance in the series. Currently, she stars in the main role, Zeynep, in 'My home, my destiny'.

Considered one of the most beautiful women in Turkey, Demet Özdemir has also starred in great love stories off the screen. The actress has been romantically linked with the Turkish heartthrob Can Yaman and, recently, with the singer Oğuzhan Koç. Although the actress has always been reluctant to talk about her private life, she made her relationship public on social media. Before the great commotion that was organized, the actor and musician also confirmed the relationship through Instagram and took the opportunity to confess: "Although not as it had been written, but I am starting a relationship with Demet."

The actress carries out an intense activity in social networks. Her Instagram profile has more than 1,600 posts and twelve million followers.

Born into a humble family, Zeynep was never a joy for her parents, Bayram, an alcoholic man, and Sakine, a woman who works cleaning houses for wealthy families. However, her life will change when she reaches school age. Seeing that the little girl's parents have no money to pay for her education and concerned for her well-being, Nermin, Sakine's boss, offers to adopt her to offer her a better future. After being given to her adoptive parents, Nermin and Ekrem, Zeynep grows up feeling out of place and longing to find someone who makes her feel at home.
