Through the #3Novembre9h22 movement, Les Glorieuses has put on the table a problem that has been alerting years and that "has been exacerbated with the pandemic".In addition, it does not only affect France: in November last year UGT warned of the same situation in Spain, which made women work for free from November 11 to December 31.

"While the principle of equal remuneration alike fights to apply within companies, salary inequalities do not refer only to the sexism of large companies," the organization said in a statement in a statement.Les Glorieuses points out that in 2020, "women constituted 70% of poor workers, 83% of part -time workers and 62% of unqualified works" and warns that according to the latest Insee survey conducted in 2017, "The gender wage gap reached 29.4% in France".

Factors such as the difference of days between men and women (they usually have smaller days to take care of care, which "creates a significant first gap in professional development");as well as the functions differences, "which is between 5% and 7%", help to understand the complexity of the salary gap.

"Salary inequalities between women and men for the same volume of work are low at the beginning of working life, but tend to increase throughout the work career, especially after the birth of the first child.Likewise, women and men do not have the same jobs and are not active in the same sectors.Women are a significant minority in the work of the future, as professions of digital or ecological transition ".

In addition to the best paid sectors are "predominantly male occupations,"."For example, women constitute most school professors, but only 27% of university teaching positions," he says.

Petition to politicians

As part of the campaign to fight this scourge, activist Rebeca Amsellem has launched three public policies proposals to candidates for presidential elections next April: that the State condition access to subsidies and tenders, but also to loanswith public guarantee, to companies with salary equality between men and women;the revaluation of wages in those professions in which women predominate;and that the paternity permit is of the same duration for both the father and the mother immediately.

As reported by EFE, the presidential candidate of the Socialist Party, Anne Hidalgo, has been afraid of these proposals and has written a message on Twitter at 9:23 hours in which she promises that she will be "the president of the Republic thatwill end with salary inequalities ".

Accompanying her tweet, also the current mayor of Paris, has published a video in which she undertakes to approve from the summer of 2022 a social programming law to achieve equality between men and women in five years.
